This banner has three of the 12 Archangels from the Old and New Testament.
These three Archangels are divine creations serving God as messengers, guides and protectors to mankind.
MICHAEL - (means "Who is Like God?" or "Who is equal to God?"). Considered to be the chief angel from the
Old Testament to the guardian of the true Christian faith. He is pictured with a spear in his right hand with which he fights Satan and in his left hand is an orb with the
icon of Christ Pantocrator or Almighty. He protects the true Church from false doctrines.
GABRIEL - (means "God Is My Strength" or "Might of God"). He announced of God's mysteries - he is specially known for announcing the Virgin Mary that with her acceptance she would become the "
Mother of God." He is associated with other mysteries in relationship to the Incarnation of Christ. Holding in his right hand a lantern with a lighted candle he announces Christ as the Light of World - a light that is never extinguished. His left hand golds an orb with a cross.
RAPHAEL - (means "it is God that heals" or "God Heals"). He is traditionally depicted with a physician's stylus and alabaster box.
